After the phenomenal performance from the wonderful Lancashire group last week, I decided to step it up a notch!

As a group, we learnt Defying Gravity from the musical, Wicked! Two fun facts – 1) I cried when I saw this performed live on stage in Birmingham and 2) this is the song I auditioned with to become part of the Wayne Barrow Academy family – so it’s a pretty special song to me!

I’m thrilled to say that this wonderful group smashed it, and seriously did me proud!  We had a good laugh over which way ‘west’ is – who knew compass points could be so confusing?!

I can’t speak highly enough about these people – they turn up each week, eager to learn even though our class is at the end of the day. This week was particularly tiring as it was very warm and I had picked a challenging song – but they’d perfected it with time to spare. We even had time to go back over Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’!

Well done to all of you – you should be so proud of yourself!

Fancy learning some signs?
