Making History

Movements are finally being made, as the Petitions Committee finally announce that they will be debating Wayne’s petition to add British Sign Language to the National Curriculum. Even though the petition hasn’t reached 100,000 signatures, which is the normal requirement for a petition to be considered for debate, the Petitions Committee decided to go ahead with the debate anyway.

Watch the moment that Wayne announced the debate.

Not only will they be debating the petition, history is going to be made in Parliament as the debate will be aired live with a British Sign Language interpreter, for the very first time. You will be able to watch the full debate online from 16:30 on Monday 5th March 2018. Wayne and Lizzy Jay will both be attending the debate, and we are all rooting that they come away with good news.
